Q: I've never done this before. Can you tell me about your services?

A:  We are a Home Health Care Agency which means that we provide Certified Home Health Aides and Certified Personal Care Aides for service in the comfort of your home.  We furnish the elderly and infirm with the help to meet their individual, personal care needs so that they can remain in safe and familiar surroundings. 

Less often, we provide Skilled Nurses such at Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses when medical necessity dictates.

 Q:  How much service do I need to contract for? 

A:  Home Health Aides are available on an hourly live-out or 24-hour live-in basis. We provide home care services anywhere from 4-24 hours a day in any 1-7 day week. We contract services for Full-Time or Part-Time, Live-In or Live-Out.

Q:  What are your credentials for providing this service?

 A:  David York Agency is owned and operated by two highly experienced Registered Nurses who long ago realized the need for quality homecare services.  We have a twenty-five year history, of providing Certified Home Health Aides to the elderly and infirm.  

David York Agency, Ltd. is licensed by the New York State Department of Health.

 Q:  What kind of information do you need to know?

A: There are many different ailments that loved ones may experience. No two conditions (or lifestyles) are the same. We would like to find out more about your loved one's needs so we can help you find the best care. When you call our office our staff is well trained and expert at asking you the right questions so that a suitable care plan for specific situation can be developed and implemented.

 Q:  What qualifications do your aides have?

A: They all go through a training course that is approved by the New York State Dept. of Heath and are certified Home Health Aides or Certified Personal Care Aides.

Q:  What exactly would the aide do for me or my loved one? 

A:  Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):  Personal Care such as bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, mobility, transferring, positioning, feeding, oral hygiene. 

Other duties include:

  • Grocery Shopping & Meal Preparation, taking into account any Special Dietary Requirements
  • Light Housekeeping & Laundry
  • Escorting Clients to Doctor Visits or Other Appointments
  • Reminding or Assisting in Dispensing Medications
  • Companionship & Conversation
  • Accompanying on walks, outings, & other pleasant events
  • Household Tasks & Various Personal Errands

Q:  How do I order your service?  How do I get started?

A:  Just call our office.  An intake coordinator will discuss your unique situation and requirements. Clients will receive information regarding costs, fees, and procedures at the time of inquiry.

After that, a nursing supervisor will conduct an initial home visit to assess your needs and develop a comprehensive care plan. To be sure, we personally contact your physician and any other concerned health care professional in order to fine tune the treatment plan.

 Q:  What ongoing service do you provide?

A:  At no charge, regular visits to your home are schedules by a registered nurse to monitor the service and to supervise the staff to ensure that the care provided optimally meets your heath and rehabilitative needs.

A supervisory staff member is available by telephone and answering service twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

We are happy to make any changes or adjustments on an ongoing and as needed basis.
