Providing Professional In-Home Care Services for residents of Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Somerset and Union Counties in New Jersey
Unfortunately, there comes a point in most senior’s lives where they cannot manage all their basic needs alone. When you are faced with the challenge of finding the best in-home care provider in northern New Jersey to help care for the emotional and physical well being of someone you love, maybe your mom or dad, you will have a lot to consider. The situation varies for everyone depending on their state of health, both mentally and physically.
Home Care, also known as In-Home Care, is a collaborative effort between our care partners, our office staff providing support, and clients and their families. This partnership is aimed at enabling our clients to continue residing within their home, wherever that may be, to maintain their independence with dignity.
Maintaining a Safe and Healthy Environment for your Loved Ones
At David York Home Healthcare Agency, our focus is on providing a healthy and safe environment for our clients to live. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life by attending to our clients’ overall well-being. It is our intent to promote a purposeful life by enabling our clients to experience joy, happiness, and fulfillment. Through knowledge of our clients’ social history (e.g., occupations, hobbies, interests) we can develop a customized plan of care that, in addition to attending to Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), will engage our clients in familiar activities that will fill their life with joy and purpose.
Providing Assistance with the Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
ADLs are broken up into two categories, including Instrumental ADLs (IADLs). Assistance with ADLs include dressing, bathing, hygiene, toileting and incontinence care, feeding, transfers, and ambulation. Whereas IADLs include assistance with housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation, errands, and companionship.
What makes home so special is the opportunity to receive one-on-one care, with a dedicated care partner who will follow a custom and personalized plan of care. Over time, care partners and their clients develop a bond and rapport based on trust and familiarity.
Home care services are arranged by meeting with one of our nursing supervisors, who will work with the client and their family to develop a plan of care. Part of the plan of care includes identifying the traits and characteristics of the care partners that would work best with our client. The director of patient services can take this information to arrange the schedule of care. Our schedulers strive for continuity in care. Continuity in care is to have as few care partners involved as possible. In particular, for those suffering from dementia and confusion, the most stable cases are those with the fewest care partners involved.
Come see why so many sing our praises. Enjoy the comfort and peace of mind in knowing that your family member and loved one is well cared for by northern New Jersey’s top-rated home healthcare agency.
