Many people confuse sudden cardiac arrest (SAC) with a heart attack, but it is not.

The main thing is to be:

proactive regarding preventive measures,
vigilant regarding any early warning signs, and
armed with information so that you can spring into action if G-d forbid there is an emergency.

We have posted a short video on produced by the American Heart Association about how to conduct hands-only CPR. It is extremely worthwhile to take a minute to watch it.

While a heart attack and SAC are two different things, it is important to be aware that having a heart attack increases the risk of suffering from SAC. In fact, a cardiac arrest can occur right after a heart attack. As such, heart attack prevention and heart health is important for avoiding this serious cardiac event.
